I enrolled at the Medical University of Vienna after completing the civilian service at the Carinthian Blood Donation Center of the Austrian Red Cross. With the aim of working in a surgical specialty in the long term, I gained initial research experience at the Department of Orthopedics at the Medical University of Vienna as a student and spent a year at the University of Bonn, one of the German excellence universities. To further improve my clinical skills, I completed various clinical electives abroad, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital Stanmore, the Ospedale di Cattinara, the BG Trauma Center Murnau am Staffelsee, and the University Hospital Zurich.

Following graduation at the Medical University of Vienna, I completed residency rotations at the Evangelical Hospital Vienna and the Deutsch-Ordens Hospital Friesach before being accepted into a training position at the Department of Trauma Surgery at the General Hospital Vienna. A brief interruption also led me to the Lorenz Böhler Traumas Center. Later, I moved to the Department of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery at the Medical University of Graz, where I completed my PhD and due to my scientific achievements and teaching activities at the Medical University of Graz, I received the teaching qualification (Habilitation) in the subject of "Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery". During this time, I also completed two fellowships at the Center for Advanced Orthopedic Studies, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of the renowned Harvard Medical School as well as at the Hospital for Special Surgery, the leading hospital for orthopedics worldwide.

After completing my specialist training, I was appointed as a consultant and deputy head of the division of Foot & Ankle Surgery at the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma at the Medical University of Graz. Due to the merger of the specialties of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, I moved to the AUVA Trauma Center Klagenfurt am Wörthersee to improve my skills in Trauma and also spent a winter season at the Diakonissen Hospital Schladming, which specializes in sports injuries.

During my one-and-a-half year stay in Perth, Western Australia, I enhanced my clinical expertise by participating in the Fremantle & Perth Primary and Revision Arthroplasty Fellowship, the Fiona Stanley Hospital Trauma Fellowship, and the Perth Orthopedic Knee & Lower Limb Sports Fellowship.

For another year, I worked at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Medical University of Innsbruck as a member of the Hip and Knee Unit in the EndoCert Max Arthroplasty Center Innsbruck.

Since September 2024, I have been working as a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at the Sonderkrankenanstalt für Orthopädie Warmbad-Villach - EndoCert Arthroplasty Center Villach.

On the side, I work as a team physician for the Austrian Ski Federation during trainings, Europa Cup and World Cup events, and I regularly participate as a speaker at national and international conferences.
